This time of year is always a fairly good indication as to what lays ahead in terms of wedding bookings. January and February generally are quite busy months for enquiries. Although most couples book their wedding photographer well in advance of their big day, maybe even 18 months, there are still those who leave it until the last minute. While these are a great surprise and often a welcome addition to the growing list of bookings, more often than not, the couple can be disappointed when they find that their special date is unavailable. I was more than surprise and disappointed, that last week we had two couples, both who wanted to book us for July 14th, all in the space af three days! Unfortunately we were already booked. While last minute bookings are pretty much available with most wedding photographers in out-of-season months and midweek days, I’m afraid the obvious summer months are often less forthcoming.
An abundance of wedding fairs is the norm at this time of year, most of which take advantage of the newly engaged-over-christmas couples. We’re exhibiting at four more wedding fairs before the end of March after having attended both the Holiday Inn at Filton, which was organised by Wedding World, and Berwick Lodge in Bristol last Sunday. Berwick Lodge is a fairly new venue and after hosting their first wedding fair, all I can say from first impressions is that those who book a wedding there will not be disappointed. A very oppulent, but at the same time intimate venue, this country hotel is bound to please.
Congratulations to Sarah and Simon on their engagement and who’s wedding we will be attending in June. Also Sarah and Simon, who I met on Monday, I hope we have an opportunity of photographing their wedding at Leigh Court in May 2013. For those who may still be looking for a Somerset wedding photographer, then please call and take advantage of our brand new, revised prices.
